Since 1922, Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects have improved human lives through functional architecture and design.
Our ways of working are shaped by the legacy of our founder, Vilhelm Lauritzen, who firmly believed that good architecture should be for everyone – not a privilege for the few. As one of the pioneers of Danish Modernism, he championed an enduring architectural ideal: buildings and spaces designed to stand the test of time.
This philosophy continues to guide our work today. Our design process is characterized by an “inside-out” approach, where form follows function, and where context and spatial quality drive every design decision. We create long-lasting architecture that can accommodate and adapt to changing uses and evolving needs.
Today, we are 150 architects, technicians and administrative staff that design and plan all types of buildings and urban spaces. Dive into different types of work here.
Our studio is in Copenhagen’s Nordhavn district, in a former warehouse that we transformed in 2024 from an industrial storage building into a contemporary architectural practice overlooking the waterfront and the city.
Over the years, we have built extensive experience delivering highly complex projects as a trusted and independent advisor across sectors including healthcare, infrastructure, laboratories, commercial developments, and cultural and media institutions.
We are backed by the international investment company Findos GmbH and are part of Verka Collective.
