In 1922, architect Vilhelm Lauritzen founded the practice with a clear conviction that architecture is for everyone – not just the privileged few. He was fascinated by the role of light and the human experience in architecture and worked according to the principle that form should follow function.

Since then, Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects has carried forward and developed this approach, creating architecture for the many and designed to endure many generations. 

Our projects span from housing and schools to major hospitals and universities. We are committed to designing for people, meeting the needs of the future, and transforming the existing building stock.

Our studio is located in a former warehouse in Copenhagen’s Nordhavn, overlooking the entrance to the harbour. Every day, 150 architects, construction architects and specialists contribute to a strong sense of community shaped by an informal atmosphere and a flat organisational structure.

Are you currently studying and interested in putting your skills into practice at an architecture studio? Twice a year, we welcome applications for internships from students of architecture, architectural technology and communication.

At the end of the credit-bearing internship, the studio provides a gratuity in accordance with Danish regulations.
