Design
In 1945, Vilhelm Lauritzen designed the VL Ring Crown for the Radio House. For the same project, Vilhelm Lauritzen also created the VL38 and VL45 lamps, which still adorn the Radio House today.
Although the original ring chandelier never found its place in The Radio House back then, its legacy and aesthetics were revived in 2019 in the form of the VL Ring Crown series, and has with Louis Poulsen’s relaunch become available to a wider audience for the first time. True to its original version, it is derived from the original drawings by Vilhelm Lauritzen, and remains faithful to the original materials and design. The modern iteration exudes timeless elegance with its fixture made of untreated and polished brass. VL Ring Crown comes in design variants of wall lamp, single shade, or ring chandelier with three, five, or seven shades in glossy, mouth-blown, opal triple-layered glass.
VL Ring Crown primarily emits downward light, creating a pleasant and uniform illumination around the fixture. This is a direct reflection of Vilhelm Lauritzen's vision of differentiated light, which emulates the nuances of daylight and enhances the architectural spaces.
