Last week, construction site signs were put up in front of Denmark’s Aquarium, and the initial work on the transformation has begun. Over the coming years, the historic functionalist building will be transformed from an empty shell into a cultural venue – a project that is now in progress.
Until the end of 2012, fish and sea creatures swam in large tanks here, but after they were moved to The Blue Planet, the former Denmark’s Aquarium has stood empty. Nature and graffiti have taken over, while the building has quietly awaited the transformation that is now being set in motion.
