Gladsaxe Company House awarded gold

Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects has designed the first DGNB GOLD certified office building in Denmark.

In collaboration with NCC, PensionDanmark, and EFFEKT, Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects has designed Gladsaxe Company House, which has been awarded Gold in the certification system DGNB, as the first building in Denmark.

Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects has had an extremely sharp focus on ensuring the correct and optimal balance between building economic, social, and environmental aspects from the first stage in the design process of Gladsaxe Company House. A focus that has been rewarded by the most pristine seal of approval in sustainability – DGNB.

‘At Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects, our primary focus has always been to create a physical environment that improves people’s lives. We are proud of the DGNB GOLD certification, as it is a vital piece of evidence that we have achieved this goal; to create a healthy and valuable environment for the people who daily use our design’, says Thomas West Jensen, partner at VLA.

‘In Gladsaxe Company House, you clearly and tangibly experience what it means to be working in a sustainability-certified building of the highest caliber. Today we are primarily developing certified office buildings. It provides more value for the tenants in the shape of better indoor climate, better atmosphere, and less energy consumption, and it gives the investors a greater confidence of value in the long run’, says CEO, Marius Møller, NCC Property Development.

PensionDanmark has in the recent years invested in eight newly constructed business properties that either are or will be certified when they are done.

‘We are very proud that this extraordinary property has received this unique distinction. As a conscientious investor, we emphasize sustainability in the properties, we invest in. Not only as a consideration to the climate but primarily because sustainability enhances the attractiveness of the properties. In the end, this contributes to securing good and stable returns for our members throughout several years’, says CEO, Torben Möger Pedersen, PensionDanmark.

DGNB

DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council) is one of the world’s most renowned standards in terms of the sustainability of buildings. The highest distinction is the Gold-certificate, which is conferred to properties characterized by top levels of environmental, social and economic sustainability.

52 buildings have either been certified, pre-certified, or registered for certification, since the introduction of DGNB in Denmark in 2012. Of these, Gladsaxe Company House is the first in the country to achieve the Gold-certification.
