Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects prequalified for new research building at DTU

Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects has been prequalified for Building 30X at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). The building – located in the third quadrant – will be one of DTU’s latest building projects. It will measure 10,500m2 and will accommodate new research and laboratory facilities.

Nine teams applied to be prequalified for the competition to design and realize Building 30X, and the team consisting of Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects, Alectia, and NCC Denmark is one of three selected teams.

DTU wants to create better research facilities for DTU Energy and DTU Physics and in addition, they want to establish a new 3D Imaging Center. At the same time, the capacity of the building makes it possible for DTU Energy Risø to move their research facilities to the Lyngby Campus.

Building 30X is expected to be realized by late summer 2019.
