Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects become Executive Architects on Waterfront Culture Center

MT Højgaard has entered into a contingent construction contract at Vandkulturhuset on Paper Island in Copenhagen together with Ejendomsfonden.

In this connection, Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects joins as Executive Architect in the project, of which Japanese Kengo Kuma is Lead Design Architect.

“We are very proud to contribute to the realization of the Waterfront Culture Center. With its spectacular architecture and open location by the harbor, the project will be both a popular meeting place and an exceptional building of international format,” says Anne Møller Sørensen, partner at Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects.

The Nordea Foundation and the City of Copenhagen jointly finance the aquaculture house. The Nordea Foundation has contributed DKK 300 million. and the City of Copenhagen with the balance.

The Waterfront Culture Center will be open to the public and will be located on Paper Island in Copenhagen.

It comprises 5,600 m2, of which 2,300 m2 is a basement and with approximately 700 m2 of wooden wharf with associated harbor bath and facilities.
