Architectural technologist intern

Through my internship at Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects, I have learned more than expected. In addition to the academic, the course also contains many social experiences – I have participated in all the events because I believed it was important not only to learn new things but also to experience what it is like to be a part of a design studio.

During my internship period, I worked on an office construction project in Ørestaden, where I was daily in the project office with the engineers and contractors. Through that experience, I learned a lot about collaboration with architects and other participants, which also motivated me to write my thesis on how the different forms of tender affect the communication processes between the different associates on a project.

I also got the opportunity to work on several other tasks – I was i.a. helped develop the Revit model, participated in meetings, coordinated changes in the project with the engineers, participated in quality assurance meetings, prepared various overviews, presentations and drawings.

Yes. After my internship, I was offered a student job at Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects as a professional supervision assistant at the Danish Architecture Center, which was a really exciting project. Here I conducted daily professional supervision on the site and was fortunate to have experienced architects by my side who guided me through the entire supervision process. I wrote inspection reports, reviewed production drawings from subcontractors, attended meetings both on-site and in the office, and took care of shortcomings review and coordination. After finishing my education, I was hired by Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects and continued on the project.

For me, it is really important to be able to work on a large number of projects and also be involved through the various project phases – from outline proposals to follow-up and supervision. In addition, I have developed by learning from more experienced people. Of course, I also look forward to having many sweet colleagues!
