Last rafter raised on timber houses in Trekroner

Skademosen in Trekroner, Roskilde, reached a milestone as the wreath and flag were hoisted on the final rafter. The topping-out ceremony was also attended by Mayor Joy Mogensen.

Recently, craftsmen, architects, contractors, and others gathered around a small milk crate from which Roskilde’s Mayor, Joy Mogensen, gave a speech to mark the topping-out of Skademosen.

The construction sector’s significant environmental and climate impact is a hot topic these days. Skademosen is one of the country’s largest social housing projects, demonstrating how timber can help solve some of the sector’s climate challenges without increasing costs, while at the same time improving the indoor environment.

“It’s important that we incorporate sustainability into all buildings in the municipality if we are to protect the environment. That’s why it’s inspiring to see a project like this, and the city council and I look forward to following its development,” said Joy Mogensen to Licitationen during a visit to the construction site in March.

According to plan, residents will be able to move in by December 2019.

Skademosen is the first of a series of projects designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects under a framework agreement between Boligselskabet Sjælland and Adserballe & Knudsen.

The groundbreaking has just taken place at Skousbo in Viby, Zealand, and a contract has also been signed for Toppen in Trekroner, the third project in the framework agreement.
