Skousbo I

Skousbo I is the first phase of two non-profit housing developments in Viby Sjælland, developed by Boligselskabet Sjælland in collaboration with Vilhelm Lauritzen Arkitekter. The project consists of 33 homes, covering a total of 2,843 m², built around a community house at Robinievej 2-68. The residences range in size from 41 to 115 m² and are designed with staggered facades and material variations to create a diverse and scaled-down appearance, resembling smaller, individual townhouses. The construction was completed in 2022.

A key element of the project is the use of cross-laminated timber (CLT) as the primary structural material. This choice significantly reduces CO₂ emissions compared to traditional Danish multi-story construction.
The facades are clad in slate and wood, contributing to a vibrant and dynamic architectural expression.

Skousbo I is part of a larger development plan for the area, aiming to revitalize Syvmose Allé and its surroundings. The overall vision is to create a charming and lively urban environment in the province, where variations in facade heights and diverse window openings add to a dynamic architectural character.

The project is part of a framework agreement between Boligselskabet Sjælland and Adserballe & Knudsen, with Vilhelm Lauritzen Arkitekter as architects and Holmsgaard A/S as consulting engineers. This agreement focuses on the construction of public housing using FSC-certified wood as the primary material, supporting sustainability and reduced environmental impact.

Furthermore, Skousbo I is part of the test phase in the voluntary sustainability certification scheme, where insights gained from the project contribute to the development of future sustainability requirements in the building regulations.
