The residential block similarly completes the rambla to the northeast and completes the picture of homes and businesses that harmoniously complement each other and create an active and vibrant urban space.
While the buildings south of the lake are designed as residential poles, the homes change contours along the ramp. Here, the buildings appear naturally heavier and have a block-like character. This creates greater diversity in the area, and the city appears more varied and dynamic to the delight of residents and visitors moving through the area.
Green and sunny courtyard
A prominent passageway in the apartment block gives residents easy access to the courtyard and ensures that residents on the south side of the lake can also move freely through the development.
The orientation towards the lake creates a very bright courtyard with large sunny and green areas. There is shelter and plenty of opportunities for play and relaxation. The sun reflects off the water and sends a beautiful play of light up the facades and into the individual homes. Combined with the private balconies and terraces, the courtyard ensures that residents have easy access to several different types of outdoor spaces.
Varied buildings in solid materials
The different sizes of the apartments also allow for different types of residents. There are homes for large families with children, retirees and students. The majority of the apartments are well-lit and have large, furnishable balconies or terraces - directly facing the large, bright courtyard.
The seafront is made of solid materials. Both the brickwork and the wooden and aluminium window sections patinate beautifully and not only withstand the daily wear and tear and harsh Danish climate, but are also beautified by it and ensure a minimum of maintenance.
Two types of brick have been used for the facade. The different shades create a play of colours and bring the window sections together in larger "bands", creating a beautiful, varied facade composition where the simple design language is clearly visible.
