The Water Culture House in the Copenhagen Harbor – Opening in 2026

In 2026, the Water Culture House will become a reality, serving as a new gathering point in the Copenhagen Harbor. With a focus on both indoor and outdoor water activities, the building will provide a setting for unique experiences and offer state-of-the-art training and meeting facilities.

The structure consists of brick stubs that appear to "float" on a light glass construction. The main attraction is an outdoor pool located between the building’s roof surfaces, featuring heated water for a truly unique bathing experience. Outside, a harbor bath will be established with various swimming options for both children and adults. The building's community tower will house meeting rooms, a larger assembly hall, and a training room.

Kengo Kuma & Associates is the lead consultant on the project, while Vilhelm Lauritzen Arkitekter has been the executive architect since the draft proposal stage. The collaboration combines international design expertise with local insight to create an architectural work that respects and complements Copenhagen’s unique harbor environment.
