Communication Intern

My internship has been hugely exciting and educational. It has been a good combination, and I have become wiser in communication, wiser in architecture and design, and at the same time, I have more insight into myself and what my role is going to be in the work market. The mentoring plan that is part of Jane, our communications manager, includes both the professional aspect of being a communicator in a company and the more personal aspects of being new to a job. Therefore, I would think that my internship went beyond my expectations.

Because the communications department at Vilhelm Lauritzen Arkitekter is a small team, the process is tailor-made, and you must continuously adjust what it should contain. During a typical workday, we hold a meeting about the work tasks that Jane has and that she thinks could be something for me. Then I structure the time myself, in addition to some scheduled meetings, and then I get ongoing feedback.

It was also the plan that I should have participated in several events, including Folkemødet on Bornholm, but due to Covid-19, it was canceled.

The best thing is that you are surrounded by design, aesthetics, and creativity. In addition, it is exciting to convey architecture, because there are many decisions and reflections behind the fact that architecture looks the way it does, and there is a sea of ​​good stories in it.

You must apply because it is an educational and professionally challenging course, where you get the opportunity to try out a wide field of communication tasks under expert guidance. Now that the course is over, I feel that I am more clear about what I think is interesting to work with in the field of communication, and I feel more confident about having to go out and look for a job in the future.
